In our communications class our professor was talking to us about connections and their importance. Then he asked me if i knew who Nicolas was. Blank face..umm what?! Well the girl behind me new straight away that he meant the president Nicolas Srakozy (or how you now spell his name). Well if he would've said the last name, obviously i know the french president. Then a follow up, he asked if i knew the prime minister of france. Wuppsie guess i should study politics a bit, the answer yet again no. That he undestood though and then presented the rest of the class with the question, who is the president of Finland? No one had a clue..in my defense i wasnt that stupid, after all i do know their countries president :D thought its not like Tarja is a lot in the tabloids compared to Nicolas, haha. funny things
A good nights sleep and a helpful studies guidance councellor always lights up a new day. I guess things will get sorted out, i really hope this is the last problem for sometime, i need a rest from fixing things with the faculty repeatedly.
And one very important fact, i get to go to Finland regardless if i would have test, because i am going to see my knee specialist, so its not for leisure its of important, thank god. I really need to get to finland now!!!!!!

i live in misery, there ain't nobody who can comfort me
on the contrary to maroon 5 i'm not talking about relationships...last thing on my mind..its life
Is so sick and tired..literally, sick and tired. I dont have the strength to fix things all the time. I'm always late, or didnt know about something..and its always a little too late to do something about it. No one even seems to be able to help me. Always when i think things are getting better and i'm finally happy in france the unversity throws shit in my face and i'm in square one all over again. I've reached my limit.
Oh and the person who came up with the saying "what doesnt kill you makes you stronger" can go fuck themselves...this is practically killing me and it sure as hell aint making me stronger, cause never again will i want to be in a situation like this....so how about hanken or whatever else? totally sending papers to other universities for next year cause if this doesnt get any better i need to get the hell out of here..thought france would be a nice country but i guess if your not francais its not all that awesome. though i was right about the riding, that is going well and quinny works perfectly here.
thats that for that depressing entry. ya'll enjoy your life

tea and oranges
I REFUSE TO GET SICK!! that would mean that i would miss all of my classes in sports, not cool!
Damn it. Woke today with an extremely clogged nose and ears, mal a la gorge ... its unacceptable - thus i've started my war against the cold, loads of tea and oranges..i have swimming practice tmrw..is it very dangerous to sport with a flue?? just so long as i dont have a fever its okay i guess. Hmh, i'm sure this is all because of our trainings in the rain at football practice on friday. I'm going to be FINE tmrw morning, nemas problemas.

tuut-tuut
honking the horn is very different in France than it is in Finland. In Finland if someone honks the horn, people usually get afraid, they most certainly wont honk back (unless they're 18 and have just gotten their drivers licence, haha). In France however, if someone honks the horn it just gets everyone else to start too, and once is never enough! at least 5 times, then maybe if the other one has stopped they can stop too :D its ridiculous. its the same thing everyday at the end of the work day in traffic as it just at the same time that i'm riding on the fields next to a big cross-roads (gladly Q has gotten used to the sounds).
I didnt actually have that much school today..3 hours of judo in the morning, came home and ate lunch, thought i'd watch an episode of HIMYM and then go to the stables..that worked out fine seeing as a woke up two hours later, haha, judo wore me out pretty well. So didnt have time to go riding during the day. Had my communications class today, somehow my concentration was else where, had the hardest time making notes..hmh. Then to the stables making, gallop trainings on the fields whilst enjoying the sunset, not at all a bad way to spend an evening!

the ever forgetful displacing lindfors brain
Its a bullet i hoped to be able to dodge, but nope its hit me! especially now that i've been living on my own..
During the past days. First: lost my hairbrush, was sure someone had broken in and stolen it (yes exactly and left all my electronics behind). for some odd reason i had put it on a top shelf behind a picture. finally after 30min it was found.
Second: my i-pod...unfortunantely still missing after going through my car and appartement :/
Third: Car keys, which got me to panic just a little, had to go to the stables and food shopping with my spare keys, found the original keys later that evening from my pants pocket!
Fourth: my BB headphones, when i came back from class i notices that they were in the drawer where i had looked in.
Either i'm just stupid or going blind, which ever it isnt very good :D
Have to work on this..

my very own first rented appartement
Here are some pictures of my mini appartement, even though everything mini its still my own and i dont have to share ;)
When you come to the entrance straight away to the left is my little bathroom, then comes to the "living room" so to speak. I have my desk and opposite my desk the kitchen. Last comes by bedroom (sorry wasnt able to level the picture). Its small, but its practically perfect in every way! ;)

...but that's allright because i like the way it hurts
Yeap today is friday and i am staying at home. not because i wouldnt have anything better to do, its more that i cant, i am not able to. One week of 9hrs trainings and riding later my body is in total shock!! i think if i'd ask my body its opinion it would be around " what the f* are you doing, you can't all of a sudden do this much sports at once and use muscles that you didnt even know existed" yeap thats the strain i've put my body through and going to do that every week for the next year. Anyways, so this weekend is all about healing :), lots of sleep..several hours of streching, and applying aloe heat lotion!
The first week of school is behind, and i must say "j'adore!", haha, it was so much fun, can't wait to do it all over again!! :) however, i have my tests in 16 weeks and i'm aready now stressing about the exams!! i need to, seriously neeed to pass with good grades so that they'll let me continue to the second year cause i love my studies at the moment (i'll remember to look back at this text when i'm studying for my exams and going through all of the curse words in all languages that i know).
Yesterday we had a soiree for the erasmus students and i was kindly invited with so that i'd get to know the other foreign students here! I met really nice people and am sure i'll have a nice time with them, some of them are even staying here for a year, there was even talk about spending spring break at the south coast, now that sounds like a plan!!
Je suis tres contente maintenant! Finlande me manques!

autsch
Yesterday was interesting. Had my first Judo class, right at the beginning our teacher asks us is we have any classes straight after our judo class. Everyone replied "no" as we're all free until the afternoon, so our techers decided instead of 2h trainings to make it 3h! Oh my.. judo is tough.. i was thrown around the judo mattrasses so many time, pushed, shuved, and then ofcourse all of the defence moves. It sure was a proper workout, beats all aerobics lessons..haha.
The day after, i could almost say that this is worse then the day after a party :D:D i even strenched yesterday night so that my muscles wouldn't hurt as much today morning. Unfortunantely it didn't do any miracles, cause i am hurting..my whole upper body is stiff and every movement hurts hahaha this is crazy, even the muscles in my ass hurt, i mean seriously it hurts to walk hahahahha!!
Today thank god no trainings! and i ended up only having a class of computer informations today, and i totally rocked, wuhuu. Tomorrow my first lesson of psychology and then football trainings, can't wait! and i'm not being sarcastic this time (for once) cause i'm actually looking forward to the psychology class, and hey why not give all of my classmates a proper laugh for the end of the week while they watch me trying to kick a ball ;)
Ooh ooh ooh, i had my first course realted to my bachelors degree, Communication in organisation and i totally LOVED IT!! it was the best and most interesting class this week:) i'm so happy, it was just the boost that i needed to be reassured that i didnt make the worst decision of my life by coming all alone across europe:D looking forward to next week already!
I am officially starting to enjoy my life in Rouen! :) Finalement.
Today I will meet all first year Erasmus students for a soiree, hope it will be cool.

ping-pong-pang-pong
So yesterday i filled in the registration form and looked all these sports options and i chose swimming so i kinda figured that was the only sports i was going to be taking, proved that my french obviously isnt good enough yet :D today morning found at that i am in group N and then looked at the schedule to look at my classes for the next six weeks. hmm little did i know to expect, i had been registered to Table Tennis (hence the title) for today, tomorrow morning Judo in the gymnasium of combat and fridays football. Oh gosh, i felt like starting to laugh. Cause i'm good at individual sports like swimming and riding, but football?? seriously, we tried that out with my friends when we were 17 years old by joining the Helsinki Football Tournaments, and we lost all of our games without making one single goal. And now i'm supposed to do the sport and get evaluated in it, absolutely hilarious!
Anyways, its going to be fun, met my group (class) for the next year and they seemed really nice. Though i totally suck at ping-pong, but who actually cares, its not like i'm making a career out of it, just have to progress a bit so that my evaluation is good :D:D
For next week i need to do a with two other girls from my group a presentation on Table Tennis competitions, haha guess i know what i'm going to be doing during the weekend, oh and yes we have school on saturdays :D huhhuh this is so different. But i'm really relieved cause i think its all going to be good after all.
Also had my lessons in sociology and human anatomy, the human anatomy was ok cause i actually kept up and was able to make notes, the sociology on the other hand..yeah that was a bit harder, like THIIIIIIIIS much harde ;) i'll get the hang of it!
Hope ya'll miss me, cause I sure do miss finland, wuup wuup and in a month i get to visit:)

No one ever said it was going to be easy
When i applied to a sports university, i didnt think that the sports referred to the running between buildings that had to be done to get your registration done. Finally all registrations are done, but my password is invalid so i cant get to my shedule or any school things on our website. My luck here in France is incredible, university is supposed to prepare you for life, well yes this is what it is doing, be prepared everything is difficult and need solving. I think i could make a career of this, go around universities worldwide and try and help them make a system for foreign students to have a bit of a easier time. I guess its true, just stay in your home country its easiest that way, though why make life easy when you can make it a challenge. yeap thats right, i think after this challenge i need at least 10 years of a easy going life, so yes i will return to Finland..oh simple life how i miss you.
Tomorrow i have to go to school and try to figure out when where and what i have as my morning class. mmm loving my life right now

normandy weather
Today morning was lovely, free day from all tests and school. I had trainings in the morning, Quinny was super and jumped beautifully. My trainer said that now i have to start competing, and i couldn't agree more! just have to fix a licence for competitions and this finn is off to french competitions :)
A few hours later i'm now wrapped in cuilts, listening to good music and sipping on a cup of tea and enjoying the rainy weather. mushy afternoon.. after my rest i'll have to review some french books though so that i'm prepared for my informations test tomorrow..jaiks don't know what to expect, fingers crossed.

The first days at the uni
So the french aren't that well known for their great skills in administrative stuffs..dare i even say its crap. but hehe unfortunantely when you have to deal with it e-v-e-r-y-single day you get used to it.
My first day at school, the meeting for all "L1" , first year students, i was really nervous but it ended up being just fine. We're 400 students of which probably 150 max are girls..i guess that's what happens when you come to a sports uni, i also think i'm the only girl who likes using high heels :D:D converse sneakers seem to be the thing.
As i told in my earlier entry that i dont like dealing with unplanned situations, well they've really forced me to deal with that issue here, they decided to tell me monday that we will have tests tuesday and thursday (this was all new info). Today we had our language tests, french and english. Well it didnt go as well as i would have wanted it too, haha, but who am i kidding it was a freaking french mothertongue level test for all native french students, so talk about a simple french test being difficult this one was difficult on a whole new level! a-and they kindly had the time to inform me that we will have french lessons..yes french native lessons. i knew this year was going to be hard but come on! now i have to learn the insides of french grammar which even french kids dont know, they have a lifetime head start its unfair :D i'll manage can't be that hard..right?
They told all kinds of things that i had no previous knowledge of, kind of dissapointing, because it resultet in me having to cancel my trip to London :( poor Emmy who had to listen to me yell on skype (cause obviously when all of my plans were crushed i panicked...totally normal) and for that matter my next door neighbor, very nice guy he does like cooking a lot, sometimes its like i lived next to a chinese restaurant =) but i'm not complaining, if i only had a oven then i'd make "maksalaatikko" finnish style and see how he'd like the smell of that, hah.
This was a long entry, i'm sure the next ones will be much shorter. I'll tell you all about my informations test that i'm having on thursday :)

The beginning
Hello!
I haven't thought of myself as the type to write a blog, but here i am writing..
So the reason for me starting a blog is because in July i decided to move to France to study at the University of Rouen (right now i'm not quite sure was i thinking clearly when i made this decision.. but its been made).
I live in the Normandy area, just an hours train ride from Paris, one of my favourite cities in the world!
So living here isn't all that bad :D actually i like it a lot! there are just some teeny tiny things which don't tend to go according to plans and well for those who know me well, i'm not very good at handeling with suprises good or bad (especially bad) and at our university they throw suprises at me all the time..jeijj now isn't that great!? (you probably figured out the answer).. aaanyways i was supposed to start this earlier so there's loads to tell, maybe i'll write more this evening. Now i have to go back to school and do an english test (i'll explain later..loong story haha)
